Artist Mario Wytch to sign Saturday, Aug. 10, at Speeding Bullet Comics
Midweek update: Following a visit to Comic-Con International, 'Sister Powers' artist to make stop in Norman, OK
An Oklahoma artist will sign a story of superpowered sisters during a Norman, Oklahoma appearance on Saturday.
Artist Mario Wytch will celebrate the release of the Summer Special issue of Keenspot’s “Sister Powers” at Speeding Bullet Comics, 614 N. Porter Ave. in Norman, OK, from 12 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.
The coming-of-age tale of two superpowered sisters is the focus of Keenspot’s all-ages series. Faith and Charity have inherited special abilities from their mother, and their lives are turned upside down by the consequences.
“I wanted to create something that I would enjoy and that I could share with my children. When I was creating this concept, it was something I wanted to share with my daughter,” Wytch said when he appeared on the Keenspot virtual panel for Comic-Con: International 2020.
Wytch returned to Comic-Con: International live and in person in 2024 to promote the “Sister Powers: Summer Vacation” one-shot.
In the “Summer Vacation” one-shot, Faith and Charity embark on a brand-new adventure at the edge of the galaxy. Keenspot describes the issue as follows: With new friends, new challenges and new drama both at home and in space, the Sister Powers find themselves searching for the true meaning of home, wherever it may be!
Wytch spoke to aspiring comics creators during his Comic-Con panel this year, as seen at his wytcharts Instagram page.
“If you believe in what you do, make it happen,” Wytch said. “If you believe in yourself enough to put in that effort, go for it! … the only difference between people sitting up here and people sitting out there is that they did it.”
Wytch’s credits include “Imaginary Drugs” from IDW, “Sasquatch” from Viper and “Fubar II: Empire of the Rising Dead,” among many others.
