Batman’s first appearance available for ‘Batman Day’

A new edition of Batman’s first appearance is among the special editions available at this year’s “Batman Day.”
DC Comics, alongside comic stores and other entities worldwide, celebrate “Batman Day” on Saturday, Sept. 21. Batman, first introduced in 1939, is celebrating 85 years on this year’s “Batman Day” celebration.
The first Batman Day was held in 2014 to celebrate 75 years of Batman.
Also launching on Batman Day is the debut issue of “Batman The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween,” which DC describes as writer Jeph Loeb’s tribute to his friend and collaborator, the late artist Tim Sale. The #0 issue reprints their final collaboration, which serves as a prelude and #0 issue for “The Last Halloween” series.
Speeding Bullet Comics, 614 N. Porter in Norman, OK, will celebrate Batman Day this Saturday.
Bat-statues will be buy one, get one free on Saturday, and so will Bat-back issues from 1989-2023.

Elsewhere in the metro, Flix Brewhouse in OKC will celebrate Batman Day with showings of “The Dark Knight” starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger multiple times on Sept. 21.
And nationwide, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will honor Batman next week with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, placed near Adam West, star of the “Batman” TV series, and the character’s co-creator, Bob Kane.
As the first superhero with his own star, Batman will also be noted with a Guinness World Records title for the achievement.
