The first “G.I. Joe” title to be set in Image Comics’ Energon Universe hits shelves today with “Duke” #1.
The creative team is writer Joshua Williamson (“Superman”) with artists Tom Reilly and color artist Jordie Bellaire.
The five-issue miniseries focuses on the origins of G.I. Joe and Cobra in the “Energon Universe,” where the Earth must deal with the arrival of the Autobots and Decepticons.
“Duke” is the first of four G.I. Joe limited series coming from Image’s Skybound imprint, headed up by Robert Kirkman. Here’s how Skybound describes the series:
When Conrad S. Hauser (codename DUKE) investigates the mysteries behind The Transformers, the answers will lead to the birth of forces for good and evil that the world never imagined.
“Duke” #1 is available in comic-book shops starting today.
