'Infinity Gauntlet' marks first book club of 2026
Speeding Bullet's January book club, in conjunction with Pioneer Library, is set for 6 p.m. Jan. 15
What if you could destroy half of reality — with a snap?
In connection with the Pioneer Library, Speeding Bullet Comics will host a book club discussion at 6 p.m. Jan. 15. This month’s book is “Infinity Gauntlet” from Jim Starlin, George Perez, and Ron Lim.
The six-issue miniseries from 1991 was a heavy inspiration for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the heroes battle Thanos. There are important differences from the comics to films, however.
The book description is as follows:
The Mad Titan Thanos has seized control of the Infinity Gauntlet and with it, near-omnipotent power! Who can stop this deadly new overlord? All of Marvel’s top heroes star in this epic of cosmic proportions!
The Book Club sessions are hosted by Dave Brown and designed for adults.
The Speeding Bullet Comics Graphic Novel Book Club is held at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at Speeding Bullet Comics, 614 N Porter Ave., Norman, OK, 73071.
Matthew Price, matthew@matthewLprice.com, has written about the comics industry for more than two decades. He is the co-owner of Speeding Bullet Comics in Norman, Oklahoma.
