Lee, Loeb to return for ‘Hush 2’
Word Balloons #1260: Batman storyline kicks off in ‘Batman’ #158
A superstar comics team is returning for a sequel to one of the best-selling comics of the 21st century.
Next week, writer Jeph Loeb and artist Jim Lee return to the pages of “Batman” for the sequel to their hit “Batman: Hush.” With part 1 in “Batman #158,” “Hush 2” or “H2SH” will run monthly for six issues through August’s “Batman” #163. The storyline will then break for an undisclosed amount of time before returning for another six parts, probably in 2026. Inker Scott Williams and colorist Alex Sinclair round out the creative team.
Overall, “H2SH” will cover twelve issues and will feature a prominent role for a former Bat-sidekick.
“Jason plays an enormous role in the story.” Loeb said at the Feb. 2025 ComicsPRO conference of comic-book retailers in Glendale, California.
“H2SH” will be part of the regular Batman continuity, Loeb and Lee said.
“We chose to have this as art of the regular run,” Lee said.
And its effects won’t be limited to the one title.
“Something happens that will affect the entire Bat-family of books,” Loeb said.
But the pair also plan, like the original “Hush,” that “Hush 2” will serve as something of a “gateway” into comics in general. “It’s intended to do that. It should work as its own standalone story. We just constantly want to make it better.”
The original “Batman: Hush” is available in a DC Compact Classics Edition, a regular-size paperback, a hardcover, an omnibus edition, and an Absolute oversized edition. Facsimile editions of the original comic books are also being released currently to comic shops.
